The Stunning Cricket Ground at The Base of Rakaposhi Peak, Gilgit – Pakistan

Pakistan is bestowed with natural beauty, it has stunning mountains, land and deserts. Among the world’s tallest mountains most are located in Pakistan. In the base of these tallest mountains there lies a beautiful cricket ground which has recently stunned the social media users. It is Pissan Cricket Ground, a natural ground located in the base of Rakaposhi mountain, Gilgit region of Pakistan. The stunning cricket ground is surrounded by flat and rocky mountain on one side and the Rakaposhi peak on the other side. The ground is used locally by village kids to play tennis ball cricket.

The Rakaposhi Mountain is the beautiful snow-covered mountain of Karakoram Range. The 7,788 meters tall mountain stands at number 27 in the list of tallest mountains of the world. Rakaposhi is also one of the most beautiful mountains of the world, it is located at scenic northern areas of Pakistan. It is close to Sawat and Naltar valleys which are considered the Switzerland of Pakistan.

Images of Pissan Cricket Ground of Gilgit have become viral on social media after the pictures of Gawadar Cricket Stadium attracted the attention of ICC (International Cricket Council). The images are also retweeted by Pakistan’s former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar on his Twitter account. The Twitter users are thrilled by the images of this scenic cricket ground – some shared full view videos of the ground. Earlier, International Cricket Council has shared images of Gawadar Cricket Stadium in a state of awe.

The northern areas of Pakistan are mountainous and beautiful there are many naturally attractive grounds for different sports. Like the Shandur Polo Ground which is highest polo ground in the world. Also, Abbottabad cricket ground, Muzaffarabad cricket ground and Bagh cricket ground of AJK are naturally scenic and stunning. These facilities are given less consideration by the government of Pakistan in term of development. However, the recent government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is considering developing a cricket stadium in beautiful Kalam valley.
